This is one of the handful of voyages that cross an entire ocean before they even reach Antarctica. Swan Hellenic’s SH Diana departs Cape Town on 23 October 2026 and after 20 nights, and 12 November, will arrive in Ushuaia, having visited the most remote inhabited archipelago on Earth, Tristan da Cunha, and South Georgia before ending her voyage amongst the glaciers of the Antarctic Peninsula.

Itinerary
This voyage will take you to some of the most distant and remarkable areas on the globe. After Cape Town, cruise to Tristan da Cunha, the world’s most isolated inhabited island. The magnificent glaciers and abundant fauna of the Antarctic Peninsula give a stunning perspective of the White Continent. There are many adventures on the road. Lectures and photography classes can make for calm sea days. Thrill to Zodiac trips in the vicinity of Tristan da Cunha to view rare seabirds and marine life in unspoiled surroundings. Go kayaking in Antarctica and witness sparkling icebergs, seals and penguins in icy waters.
Cape Town is a cosmopolitan city between mountains and the ocean. Its waterfront is a bustling place with seafood restaurants, shops and attractions. Visitors can ride the cable car to the spectacular Table Mountain. Boats arrive to the Robben Island prison of Nelson Mandela. Boulders Beach has African penguins, while the wineries of Stellenbosch serve samples from Cape Dutch houses.

Launched in 2023 at the Helsinki Shipyard, SH Diana carries just 192 guests in 96 staterooms and suites, most with their own balcony, behind a Polar Class 6 ice-strengthened hull. There's an infinity pool, a proper sauna and a helideck too, though it's her manoeuvrability among the ice that guests tend to remember.

Going above and beyond
Samantha was very helpful in assisting us to make the right choices in taking a cruise with Ponant to Antarctica and then afterwards on a Peru Tour which included Machu Picchu. Once our tours were confirmed, we were then assisted by Alicia who made sure our new experiences to come were as seamless as possible. The friendly enthusiasm from both Samantha and Alicia gave us the confidence that we had made the right choices. Going above and beyond, it was certainly appreciated by us when Alicia reached out to advise we may be facing a cancelled flight the next day due to an airline strike. We did have a cancelled flight and Alicia's assistance was second to none. For my husband and I, it was a trip of a lifetime and we feel very blessed that we had the opportunity. We travelled to Antarctica with Atlas Ocean Voyages Feb/Mar 2026. We had a seamless experience throughout the booking process and the cruise itself was amazing and memorable! The smaller ship, with only approximately 140 passengers made the whole experience more personal. We would highly recommend Atlas to anyone thinking about going to Antarctica.
