Le Lyrial, a Ponant ship that sails to Antarctica

French expedition luxury

Le Lyrial

Le Lyrial, the latest addition to the Sisterships series, reflects French refinement in every detail to offer elegant travel experiences.

Guided by the Stars

Le Lyrial is the youngest and most refined ship in PONANT's fleet of intimate sisters. Inaugurated in 2015 and named after the Lyra constellation, she carries just 264 guests across waters most ships never reach. An entire deck is devoted to suites, each larger than those found on her sister ships. Ninety-four percent of cabins look out to sea from a private balcony. Everything familiar from PONANT, the French elegance, the ice-strengthened hull, the Zodiacs, the care taken one step further.

The Finest Distance

Le Lyrial was inaugurated in 2015 as the youngest and most refined of her sisters. Named after the Lyra constellation, her interiors inspired by Vega, its brightest star, she carries 245 guests with a quiet authority. An entire deck devoted to suites, each more generous than those found on any of her sister ships. Ninety-four percent of cabins with a private balcony. An ice-strengthened hull that takes her to Antarctica, the Arctic, and beyond. Le Lyrial is the furthest PONANT has gone in the art of doing this well.

A Fantastic Experience

This bucket list of mine has well and truly been ticked off…thanks to the great work of Alicia James and her team for making it possible. It didn’t matter what time of the day or night, if I had a problem or question Alicia would handle it with professionalism and good humour. Thanks for all your support…it was a fantastic experience for me to step on my 7th continent…let us all preserve this wonderland.

Going above and beyond

Samantha was very helpful in assisting us to make the right choices in taking a cruise with Ponant to Antarctica and then afterwards on a Peru Tour which included Machu Picchu. Once our tours were confirmed, we were then assisted by Alicia who made sure our new experiences to come were as seamless as possible. The friendly enthusiasm from both Samantha and Alicia gave us the confidence that we had made the right choices. Going above and beyond, it was certainly appreciated by us when Alicia reached out to advise we may be facing a cancelled flight the next day due to an airline strike. We did have a cancelled flight and Alicia's assistance was second to none. For my husband and I, it was a trip of a lifetime and we feel very blessed that we had the opportunity. Thank you Samantha, Alicia and team for helping to make it all possible.

Seamless Experience

We travelled to Antarctica with Atlas Ocean Voyages Feb/Mar 2026. We had a seamless experience throughout the booking process and the cruise itself was amazing and memorable! The smaller ship, with only approximately 140 passengers made the whole experience more personal. We would highly recommend Atlas to anyone thinking about going to Antarctica.

Antarctica Cruise was brilliant in organising

Antarctica Cruise was brilliant in organising a cruise for my father and I to Antarctica - Nico was extremely knowledgeable and experienced, listened to what we were looking for and proposed an excellent cruise with options to choose from - and since he has extensive experience in this area we knew we were in good hands - the cruise was special to share with my father - words cannot describe how incredible this experience was - and something I will hold with me for the rest of my life. Thank you!
