From Ushuaia, the voyage crosses the Drake Passage to the Antarctic Peninsula, among glaciers, tabular icebergs and humpback whales. It then sweeps north through the Southern Ocean to South Georgia, where Salisbury Plain alone holds more than 300,000 king penguins, and on to Port Stanley, the Victorian-roofed capital of the Falklands. The final leg follows the Patagonian coast to Puerto Madryn, gateway to the UNESCO-listed Valdés Peninsula, before the voyage ends in Buenos Aires.
