Atlas sails two sister ships in Antarctica in the 2026-27 season: World Navigator and World Traveller. World Voyager, the third ship built to the same design, now sails in Antarctica for Quark Expeditions. All three were built at the WestSEA shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal: 423 feet long, Polar Category C with an Ice Class 1B hull, and fewer than 200 guests.
Both ships have a dedicated mudroom, an expedition platform, a full Zodiac fleet for landings, sea kayaks, the Atlas Lounge and The Dome observation lounge forward on Deck 7.
Almost everything. Every fare covers all meals in every venue, wine, cocktails, spirits, craft beers and specialty coffees, in-suite Nespresso and Kusmi teas, a stocked minibar and 24-hour room service. Suites have L'Occitane bath amenities and binoculars for the voyage, Wi-Fi is included, and so are gratuities and emergency medical evacuation cover.
A pre-expedition hotel night in Buenos Aires and the private charter flight between Buenos Aires and Ushuaia are part of the fare, as are every Zodiac landing and guided excursion with the expedition team, and an Atlas parka and vest to keep.
Yes. Every Atlas Antarctica expedition is led by a team of up to 17 wilderness guides, naturalists, mountaineers, biologists and other specialists who have explored Antarctica and South Georgia. They run the morning briefings, lead every landing and Zodiac outing, and present the evening recaps in the auditorium.
IAATO rules allow no more than 100 guests ashore at one site at a time, so landings run in rotating groups and everyone spends real time ashore.
On selected departures. Atlas's Drake Express voyages sail the Drake Passage one way and fly the other, by private charter between King George Island and Punta Arenas, and some voyages begin and end at King George Island. On a standard departure the ship sails both ways, about two days each way, which is part of the full Southern Ocean experience.
