Quark Expeditions
Quark Expeditions has sailed nothing but the Arctic and Antarctic since 1991. Three ships, Ultramarine, Ocean Explorer and World Voyager, carry guests from Zodiac landings among penguin colonies to helicopter flights over ice sheets, led by the most experienced expedition teams in polar travel.

Quark Expeditions has been polar-obsessed since 1991, and unlike most expedition operators, the Arctic and Antarctic are the only places they go. That singular focus shows up in the details: the largest expedition teams in polar travel, which means more Zodiac landings and more time off the ship; the longest-running helicopter programme in the polar regions; and a fleet of three purpose-built ships carrying between 138 and 199 guests, small enough to reach places that larger ships can't.

Quark's Antarctica, Undisturbed
Quark has committed more than $2.5 million USD over the next three years to conservation and community work across the polar regions. In practice, that already looks like $440,000 a year in free berths for scientists who'd otherwise have no way to reach Antarctica, plus guest-funded donations of over $215,000 last year alone to groups like Penguin Watch, the South Georgia Heritage Trust and the Blue Marine Foundation.
